Lunatisporites goraiensis was named by Potonié and Lele (1961). It is not extant. Its type locality is Goraia, Shahdol, which is in a Cisuralian fluvial horizon in India.
It was recombined as Faunipollenites goraiensis by Maithy (1965) and Lakhanpal et al. (1976).
