Dartonius jepseni
Taxonomy
Leptacodon jepseni was named by McKenna (1960). Its type specimen is UCMP 45949, a mandible (fragment of right ramus with P3-M2), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is West Alheit Pocket, which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial horizon in the Wasatch Formation of Colorado. It is the type species of Dartonius.
It was recombined as Dartonius jepseni by Novacek et al. (1985).
