Taxonomy
Palmoxylon wadiae was named by Sahni (1931). It is not extant. Its type locality is Tawi River at Taranagri, which is in a Pliocene fluvial-lacustrine horizon in the Upper Formation of India.

It was corrected as Palmoxylon wadiai by Srivastava (1991).
