---|---|---|
D. B. Brinkman et al. 2023 | A pan-kinosternid similar to Y. rosarioae in having a small carapace without carina, a thin cervical scale extending across nuchal, abdominal scales with a narrow area of contact at the midline, two inframarginal scales contacting one another, and in that the sulcus between the third and fourth vertebral scales crosses the sixth neural, rather than the fifth. The carapace differs from Y. rosarioae in that the fourth vertebral scale has an omega-shaped anterior end, and the mid-dorsal projection of the fourth vertebral does not extend onto the fifth neural. The plastron differs from Y. rosarioae in that the anterior and posterior lobes of the plastron are triangular in shape and the suture between the hyo- and hypoplastron is coincident with the suture between the fifth and sixth peripheral. The skull is different from crown group kinosternids in that the frontal enters the margin of the orbit, the jugal enters the ventral margin of the cheek, the incisura columella is closed, and the stapedial canal is larger than the canalis caroticus cerebralis. |
