Taxonomy
Psectrosciara crassieton was named by Amorim and Greenwalt (2022). Its type specimen is USNM 625035, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Spring site, Middle Fork Flathead River (Kishenehn), which is in a Lutetian lacustrine - large shale in the Kishenehn Formation of Montana.
