Taxonomy
Petrozium mcallisteri was named by Merriam (1973). Its type specimen is USNM 159411 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Paleozoic loc. M1111, Last Chance Range, which is in a Wenlock carbonate dolomite in the Hidden Valley Dolomite Formation of California.
