Taxonomy
Australophyllum (Toquimaphyllum) johnsoni was named by Merriam (1973). Its type specimen is USNM 159420 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ikes Canyon, USGS M1114, Nevada, which is in a Lochkovian open shallow subtidal limestone in the McMonnigal Limestone Formation of Nevada.
