Otus sauzieri (Mauritius owl)
Taxonomy
Strix sauzieri was named by Newton and Gadow (1893). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mare aux Songes swamp (Sauzier collection), which is in a Holocene mire/swamp peat in Mauritius.
It was recombined as Mascarenotus sauzieri by Mourer-Chauviré et al. (1994); it was recombined as Otus sauzieri by Louchart et al. (2018).
