Otus murivorus

Taxonomy
Strix (Athene) murivora was named by Milne-Edwards (1874). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Plaine Corail, Rodrigues (Jenner collection), which is in a Holocene cave siltstone in Mauritius.

It was recombined as Carine murivora by Günther and Newton (1879); it was recombined as Athene murivora by Lambrecht (1933); it was recombined as Mascarenotus murivorus by Mourer-Chauviré et al. (1994); it was recombined as Otus murivorus by Louchart et al. (2018).
