Taxonomy
Rylstonia columnirotata was named by Langenheim and Tischler (1960). Its type specimen is UCMP 36447 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP loc. A-9453, Cottonwood Range, which is in a Mississippian carbonate limestone in the Tin Mountain Formation of California.
