It was assigned to Thecata by Taylor (1988); and to Hydroida by Sepkoski (2002).

P. D. Taylor 1988Colony with unbranched upright stems arising from a stolonal hydrorhiza. Hydrothecae borne on both stolons and erect stems. Stolons branching, anastomosing, and bearing hydrothecae alternately on either side. Stolonal hydrothecae have an adnate tubular proximal part and an erect, tubular to slightly barrel-shaped distal part. Stems are relatively straight, and bear hydrothecae alternately on either side.
