Taxonomy
Cantharis (Cantharis) doernerorum was named by Fanti and Poschmann (2019). Its type specimen is NHMM PE 2007/5006-LS, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Enspel, horizon S14, which is in a MP 28 crater lake shale in Germany.
