Taxonomy
Boraginocarpus lakhanpalii was named by Mathur (1974). It is not extant. Its type locality is Saketri, Chandigarh, which is in a Pliocene/Pleistocene fluvial horizon in the Upper Formation of India. It is the type species of Boraginocarpus.
