Taxonomy
Helicelasma randi was named by Elias (1981). Its type specimen is GSC 60735 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Red River Formation, Selkirk Member, Garson, corals, which is in a Maysvillian/Richmondian open shallow subtidal wackestone/packstone in the Red River Formation of Canada.
