Taxonomy
Lemureops ploogi was named by McAdams and Adrain (2009). Its type specimen is SUI 110318, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a cast. Its type locality is H-172.5, which is in a Tulean open shallow subtidal packstone/wackestone in the Fillmore Limestone Formation of Utah.
