Taxonomy
Magnatalpa fumamons was named by Oberg and Samuels (2022). Its type specimen is ETMNH 9664, a tooth (right m2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gray Fossil Site, which is in a Hemphillian/Blancan sinkhole siltstone/conglomerate in Tennessee. It is the type species of Magnatalpa.
