Taxonomy
Eutypomys thomsoni was named by Matthew (1905) [genotype]. Its type locality is Quinn Draw (Lower Nodular Zone), which is in an Orellan terrestrial horizon in the Brule Formation of South Dakota. It is the type species of Eutypomys.
