Taxonomy
Sabalophyllum livistonoides was named by Bonde (1986). It is not extant. Its type locality is Nawargaon, which is in a Paleogene fluvial-lacustrine horizon in the Deccan Intertrappean Formation of India. It is the type species of Sabalophyllum.
