Cyclosunetta was named by Fischer-Piette (1939) [Sepkoski's age data: Q Plei R Sepkoski's reference number: 1112]. It is extant.

It was reranked as Sunetta (Cyclosunetta) by Cox et al. (1969); it was misspelled as Cyclosuneta by Sepkoski (2002) and Sepkoski (2002).

It was assigned to Sunetta by Cox et al. (1969); and to Veneroida by Sepkoski (2002) and Sepkoski (2002).
