Taxonomy
Phycosoma icti was named by García-Villafuerte and Carbot-Chanona (2022). Its type specimen is IHNFG-5975, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Montecristo amber mines, Simojovel de Allende (IHNFG collection), which is in a Miocene terrestrial amber in Mexico.
