Floridachoerus olseni

Taxonomy
Floridachoerus olseni was named by White (1941) [genotype]. Its type specimen is MCZ 3657, a partial skull (an incomplete skull with right P3-M3, and left P4-M3.), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Thomas Farm, which is in a Hemingfordian terrestrial sandstone/claystone in the Alachua Formation of Florida.

It was recombined as Desmathyus olseni by Olsen (1962) and MacFadden and Webb (1982).

T. E. White 1941P3 as wide as long and more complex than in Desmathyus; P4 one and one half times as wide as long; M1+2 as wide as long; Ma slightly longer than wide.

Prothero 2015[Same as for genus] (Modi ed from Wright, 1991, 1998) A hesperhyine (as indicated by the narrow plesiochoanal fossa), having a P3 with a large lingual crescent in the protocone position, retaining the the broad pterygoid processes of the alisphenoid that join the palate at a high angle.
