Taxonomy
Gazinius bowni was named by Gunnell (1995). Its type specimen is UM 31560, a tooth (left [upper] M2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UM BRW-40, which is in a Bridgerian terrestrial horizon in the Bridger Formation of Wyoming.
