Taxonomy
Avionbrodia incompleta was named by Schubnel et al. (2020). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.A71314, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Terril No 7, Avion, which is in a Westphalian C/Westphalian D terrestrial shale in France. It is the type species of Avionbrodia.
