The new speciesis named for the late Roger Bour.
Taxonomy
Astrochelys rogerbouri was named by Kehlmaier et al. (2023). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.MAD480, a limb element (tibia), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ambolisatra, which is in a Holocene terrestrial horizon in Madagascar.
