Taxonomy
Eoptychoptera jiyuanensis was named by Liu and Huang (2020). Its type specimen is NIGP173564, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Anyao, Jiyuan City, which is in a Callovian lacustrine shale in the Yangshuzhuang Formation of China.
