Taxonomy
Leptotarsus lagosi was named by Santos et al. (2022). Its type specimen is LP/UFC CRT 2420, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Crato (LP/UFC collection), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large carbonate in the Crato Formation of Brazil.
