Taxonomy
Leptotarsus lemesi was named by Santos et al. (2022). Its type specimen is UFRJ-DG 865ins, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Crato (UFRJ-DG collection), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large carbonate in the Crato Formation of Brazil.
