Saxonyptilus sowiaki
Taxonomy
Saxonyptilus sowiaki was named by Rosová et al. (2022). Its type specimen is Sowiak F 363, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Piesberg quarry, "Flöz Dreibänk" (Sowiak coll), which is in a Westphalian D lacustrine deltaic claystone in the Flöz Dreibänke Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Saxonyptilus.
