Taxonomy
Proetus (Proetus) menaniensis was named by Pribyl (1948). Its type specimen is SMBN-CF 581, a cephalon/head, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Proetus menaniensis by Přibyl (1949); it was recombined as Proetus (Unguliproetus) menaniensis by Erben (1951); it was recombined as Unguliproetus menaniensis by Alberti (1969); it was recombined as Pragoproetus menaniensis by Šnajdr (1980), Chlupáč (1982).
