Ameropiltonia lauradanae

Taxonomy
Ameropiltonia lauradanae was named by Brezinski (2000) [= Breviphi!lipsia sampsoni Hessler, 1963:pl. 61, fig. 13, 19, 20 (not pl. 61, fig. 15'"-17, 21, 22, 27, 28: pl. 62, fig. I): Hahn and Hahn, 1972:120-121; Brezinski, 1986:flg. 4.1, 4.5, 4-8.]. Its type specimen is CM 45115 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Easley, Boone County, Chouteau Group, Compton Limestone, which is in a Kinderhookian offshore shelf lime mudstone/wackestone in the Compton Limestone Formation of Missouri. It is the type species of Ameropiltonia.

D. K. Brezinski 2000Highly vaulted species with coarse tuberculation. Glabella outline quadrate, slightly anteriorly tapering to parallel-sided, broadly rounded anteriorly, strongly arched in longitudinal and transverse profile, overhanging anterior margin. Dorsal furrow deep, narrow. Palpebral lobes small, anteriorly located. Pygidium highly vaulted, with robust, wide, rounded axis, and deeply incised pleural furrows.
