Piltonia carlakertisae
Taxonomy
Piltonia carlakertisae was named by Brezinski (2000) [= Phillipsia tuberculata HESSLER, 1963, pl. 60, figs. 31–34, 37, 38, 41, 42, pl. 61, figs. 7, 8, 11 (not pl. 61, figs. 1–6).]. Its type specimen is CM 45742, a cephalon/head, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Apache Hill, Sierra, which is in an Osagean deep subtidal shelf wackestone in the Lake Valley Formation of New Mexico.
