Differs from Lokotunjailurus in absence of P2, larger P3 and more reduced P4 preparastyle. Differs from Homotherium in smaller size, narrower cranium, distinctly larger P3 and slightly larger P4 protocone. Dif- fers from Ischyrosmilus and Xenosmilus by smaller size, much nar- rower skull and more slender dentition, and larger P3. Differs from “Machairodus” africanus by slightly smaller size, smaller cheek teeth, and proportionally larger P3. |
