Taxonomy
Astraea hennahii was named by Lonsdale (1840).

It was recombined as Cyathophyllum hennahii by Bronn (1848); it was recombined as Arachnophyllum hennahii by McCoy (1851); it was recombined as Smithia hennahii by Edwards and Haime (1851), Edwards (1860) and Meek (1877).
