Taxonomy
Locustopsis posterior was named by Gorochov et al. (2006). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Sedgwick Museum 36, a tegmen, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Ridgeway (Fisher collection), which is in a Berriasian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal horizon in the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Plesioschwinzia posterior by Gorochov and Coram (2023).
