Amphion nevadensis was named by Walcott (1884).
It was recombined as Pliomerops nevadensis by Bassler (1915), Raymond (1925); it was synonymized subjectively with Pliomerops barrandei by Phleger (1933); it was recombined as Pseudomera nevadensis by Holliday (1942).
