Taxonomy
Cervus latidens was named by Lydekker (1876). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Padri, which is in a Miocene/Pliocene terrestrial horizon in Pakistan.

It was recombined as Pachyportax latidens by Pilgrim (1939).
