Taxonomy
Acicnemis sumatranus was named by Legalov (2023). Its type specimen is ISEZH SA2017/1, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Sumatran amber, Sinamar area (ISEZH collection), which is in a Miocene terrestrial amber in Indonesia.
