Cornuproetus (Lepidoproetus) latiannulatus was named by Pribyl (1971). Its type specimen is UUG-p 3465, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Lepidoproetus (Lepidoproetus) lepidus latiannulatus by Šnajdr (1980); it was recombined as Lepidoproetus (Lepidoproetus) latiannulatus by Wagner (2020).
