Taxonomy
Machairodus schlosseri was named by Weithofer (1888). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pikermi (old collection), which is in a Miocene fluvial horizon in Greece.
It was recombined as Paramachaerodus schlosseri by Jiangzou et al. (2022).
