Taxonomy
Bison palaeosinensis was named by Teilhard de Chardin and Piveteau (1930). It is not extant. Its type locality is Nihowan, N of Sanggan River, which is in a Pliocene/Pleistocene fluvial-lacustrine horizon in China.
