Gallirallus astolfoi
Taxonomy
Gallirallus astolfoi was named by Salvador et al. (2021). Its type specimen is NMNZ.S.044399, a limb element (left tarsometatarsus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tangarutu Cave, excavation S1, Rapa Island, which is in a Holocene terrestrial sandstone in French Polynesia.
