Taxonomy
Cynodictis brachyrostris was named by Filhol (1876). It is not extant. Its type locality is Ravet, which is in a MP 21 karst phosphorite in France.
It was recombined as Cynodon brachyrostris by Teilhard (1915); it was recombined as Amphicynodon brachyrostris by Cirot and de Bonis (1992).
