Arthrolycosa wolterbeeki was named by Dunlop (2023). Its type specimen is MfN MB.A.4298, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Piesberg quarry (Wolterbeek collection), which is in a Westphalian D terrestrial horizon in Germany.
