Taxonomy
Physogaleus onkensis was named by Boulemia and Adnet (2023). Its type specimen is TU/OPh-34, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Jebel El Onk mine, top of main sublayer, which is in a Thanetian carbonate claystone in Algeria.
