Taxonomy
Valdopogon simpsoni was named by Tihelka and Cai (2023). Its type specimen is NIGP203316, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Wealden amber, Chilton Chine, Isle of Wight (NIGP collection), which is in a Barremian terrestrial amber in the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Valdopogon.
