Mezilaurinoxylon oleiferum
Taxonomy
Mezilaurinoxylon oleiferum was named by Ruiz et al. (2020). Its type specimen is MPEF-Pb 8400, a wood, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Estancia Las Violetas - L3, which is in a Danian terrestrial sandstone in the Salamanca Formation of Argentina.

Rays multiseriate, heterocellular, up to 6 cells wide, some with uniseriate margins of upright cells. Oil cells in rays or occasionally among fibers. |
