Similhapalops nivis
Taxonomy
Similhapalops nivis was named by Pujos et al. (2021). Its type specimen is MCNAM PV 5011, a limb element (Complete right astragalus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Quebrada Fiera, which is in an Oligocene lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal tuff in the Agua de la Piedra Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Similhapalops.
