Taxonomy
Aspiculum gigantium was named by Won et al. (2007). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Geological Survey of Canada, GSC-125707, a test. Its type locality is Western Brook Pond, south section, Unit 19a, which is in a Tremadocian marine mudstone in the Green Point Formation of Canada.
