Taxonomy
Paroligobunis frazieri was named by Frailey (1978). Its type locality is SB-1A, which is in a Harrisonian terrestrial horizon in Florida.

It was recombined as Megalictis frazieri by Hunt and Skolnick (1990), Hunt and Skolnick (1996) and Valenciano et al. (2016).
