Elganellus cultus was named by Yegorova (1983). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lena River, opposite mouth of Tolba River, Yakutia - Yegorova 1983, which is in the Atdabanian of limestone the El'gyan Formation the Russian Federation.
